French Agricultural Award Plaques – Paris Concours Général Agricole, 1936 & 1931 sold separately
A charming pair of original French agricultural competition plaques awarded at the prestigious Concours Général Agricole de Paris in 1936 and 1931. These cast metal signs, finished in traditional green paint with raised lettering, commemorate awards given to prize-winning Bovine (Espèce Bovine) Vaches—cattle—under the Ministère de l’Agriculture.
Each shield-shaped plaque bears its respective date, event name, and award class:
• 1936 – 2ème Prix (2nd Prize)
• 1931 – 3ème Prix (3rd Prize)
Embossed with classical laurel motifs and hanging chains still attached, these signs were proudly displayed by the winning farms. Today, they make for wonderfully rustic farmhouse décor, collector’s pieces, or historical French agricultural memorabilia.
