Antique Middle Eastern Brass & Copper Inkwell Set with Cut Crystal Bottle

Late 19th to early 20th century

A striking antique inkwell set featuring a beautifully detailed copper and brass tray paired with a cut crystal inkwell bottle. The circular base is adorned with intricate Islamic-inspired arabesques and geometric motifs in chased copper over a brass ground, showcasing exceptional craftsmanship and design. The center holds a removable faceted crystal inkwell with a hinged brass lid decorated in matching repoussé work, echoing the surrounding tray’s artistry.

The blend of materials—warm copper, golden brass, and luminous crystal—creates a rich and tactile composition that reflects the opulence of late Ottoman or Mamluk Revival design, popular across the Middle East and North Africa in the late 19th century. The underside retains its original mounting hardware and patina.

Condition:

Very good antique condition with minor age-related wear and patina. No chips to the crystal inkwell. Tray shows expected surface oxidation and verdigris, adding authentic character.

A rare and elegant addition to any writing desk or collector’s cabinet—equally suited for display or practical use.
