This frame. The most exquisite frame I have ever seen. Featuring exceptional bronze detail and a beautiful hand painted miniature portrait on top

This frame is a stunning example of high-quality French decorative arts, likely from the Napoleon Ill era (mid to late 19th century). It's made of gilt bronze (often called ormolu when the gilding is mercury gilding), which is a hallmark of luxury French decorative objects from this period. The level of detail in the casting and chasing of the bronze is exceptional. The scrolling acanthus leaves, C-scrolls, floral motifs, shell-like forms, and the presence of mythological mask-like faces are all characteristic of the Rococo style, which experienced a significant revival during the Napoleon Ill period. The overall asymmetrical yet balanced design is also typical.

It is a tabletop picture frame with an easel back, designed for display. The oval opening at the top, currently holding a miniature portrait, is also very characteristic of frames from this era, which often housed beloved portraits or small works of art.

the pink is an antique silk velvet but I do not believe it is period to the frame, but gives it a beautiful rich color it’s in amazing condition
