Wong Lee Hand-Painted Covered Urn with Bronze Mounts

A striking late 20th-century Wong Lee International porcelain urn, richly decorated in the French Rococo Revival style. The body is finished in a vivid turquoise ground with elaborate hand-painted floral bouquets, surrounded by scrolling gilt accents.

The urn is further embellished with ornate bronze mounts, including sculptural handles formed as a satyr with a goblet on one side and a maiden playing a lyre on the other. Additional bronze details include a cherub seated on the front, scrolling acanthus leaves, and a finely cast figural finial crowning the lid. The interior is glazed white, typical of Wong Lee’s heavier porcelain vessels.

Wong Lee (WL 1895) pieces were designed in the U.S. and produced in Macau beginning in the 1990s, recognized for their lavish neoclassical and baroque-inspired designs. This urn is a statement piece, ideal as a centerpiece for a mantle, entryway, or sideboard.

Condition: Excellent overall, with age-appropriate wear to bronze mounts.
